Abstract

The present article examines the methodology known as “constitutional-civil law” (direito civil-constitucional), from its origins in continental Europe to its current status in Brazil. After describing the arguments of its main critics, the article proposes an agenda for the future of such methodology, including the reform of Civil Law teaching in Brazil, the revision of old and new dichotomies, the extension of constitutional-civil law to the application fields of Legislative and Judiciary Powers, among other points.
