From the Plural Family to the Singular Family: Dilemmas between Civil Union and Marriage
Keywords:
Family plurality. Marriage. Civil union. Human dignity.Abstract
The contemporary family is plural, as expressly established by the Constituent Assembly of 1988, unrestricted to a legal format and representing a real living organism in the social sphere, allowing the realization of the human being, precisely because it is the first relevant social grouping in its formation. The study, focused on the absence of hierarchy among the various forms of family, especially between stable union and marriage, seeks to establish distinctive lines and propose the debate about the possible egalitarian treatment given to those institutions, starting from the unification of the effects of stable union and marriage, which may represent the end of stable union and the regress to the Family arising exclusively from marriage. From a plural family to a marriage family exclusively; this is the great concern that permeates the present study.
